ED 510 - Teaching Reading 3 credit hours This course will addresses the Foundations of Literacy Acquisition, knowledge of diverse reading profiles (including dyslexia), an introduction to developmentally-appropriate assessment techniques that can be used in K-6 classrooms, the essential principles and practices of structured literacy instruction including state and national standards , and professional dispositions and practices. Graduate students will complete additional research and/or teaching requirements to demonstrate advanced levels of academic and professional competency. Admission to the Teacher Education Program
