P-12 Music Education (Instrumental or Vocal), Alternative, M.Ed.

Admission Requirements:

In addition to graduate school requirements , P-12 music education students must complete the Core Academic Skills for Educators Test and the content Praxis II examination. Students must also have fingerprint background clearance from ALSDE. Music majors are also required to audition with music program faculty.

ED 555 - Instructional Strategies I - Literacy
ED 507 - Current Trends in Teaching Exceptional and Diverse Learners
Note: If ED 507 has been completed previously, ED 506 (2 hours) is required
EDF 580 - Advanced Human Growth and Development
ED 518 - Classroom Management
ED 527 - Technology-Based Instructional Strategies (or equivalent)
EDF 562 - Measurement and Evaluation in Secondary Education
MUS 549 - Advanced Music Methodology
EDI 590 - Internship in P-12 Teaching
EDI 599 - Intern Certification Preparation
