Biology, B.S.

The students majoring in Biology must complete requirements below. As graduation requirement of the major, a student must have a 2.0 (C) average in the major.

In addition to the requirements listed below, students must meet all general graduation requirements as listed in the Academic Policies and Information section in this bulletin. A minimum of 120 semester hours is required for completion.

Biology Electives

Students must complete 16 credit hours of courses numbered 300 or above. At least four credit hours of which must include one of the following:

CHEM 122 - General Chemistry II
CHEM 221 - Organic Chemistry I
CHEM 222 - Organic Chemistry II
or
CHEM 370 - Biochemistry I
MATH 157 - Introduction to Statistics
MATH 150 - Pre-Calculus Algebra and Trigonometry
(MATH 144 and MATH 149 combined may be substituted for MATH 150 .)
Select one of the following sequences in Physics (8 credit hours):
PHYS 201 - College Physics I and
PHYS 202 - College Physics II
or
PHYS 241 - University Physics I and
PHYS 242 - University Physics II

General Education and General Electives

Students must also complete the General Education Core requirements to include any specific courses listed below. Students must also complete sufficient general electives to reach 120 or more total semester hours.
