HIST 533 - Modern Brazil 3 credit hours This course surveys Brazilian history beginning with the founding of an independent state in 1822. Topics covered include slavery, regionalism, immigration, the economy, the armed forces, and other major themes such as race, class, gender, politics, and religion. Prerequisite(s): HIST 101 (or 103) and 102 (or 104). Cross-listed with HIST 433.
