BIO 425 - Molecular Biology 4 credit hours Two lectures. Two two-hour labs. The study of nucleic acid structure and function, chromosomal architecture, and mechanisms of gene expression. Comparisons will be made between prokaryotic and eukaryotic molecular genetics. The lab will focus on techniques of protein, RNA, and DNA manipulations commonly used in genetic engineering and biotechnology applications. Prerequisite(s): BIO 206 with a grade of C or higher.
