THEA 123 - Foundations in Theatre History 3 credit hours - This course explores global theatre as a cultural and creative response to historical events. Students will examine foundational performance theories, major theatrical movements, and dramatic literature from a variety of historical periods. Students will also be Introduced to basic historiographical approaches used in researching theatre, including conducting archival research, reading performance criticism, analyzing dramatic texts, and historical narrative creation. Prerequisite(s) with concurrency allowed: THEA 120 or THEA 122 .
