ED 101 - First Year Experience in Education: Exploring Teaching and Learning


3 credit hours - In this course, students will gain intellectual and practical skills and develop their personal and social responsibility.  By exploring topics such as time management, goal setting, effective communication, and financial literacy, students will develop the tools to navigate university life successfully. Written and oral communication are practiced through reflective responses and presentations, while information literacy is reinforced through research on campus resources and academic support services. Group projects and discussions on themes like learning styles, health and wellness, and campus involvement build teamwork and problem-solving skills. The course also promotes intercultural competence through activities that highlight respect and civility, preparing students for lifelong learning and active engagement in a diverse community.
