The Allied Health concentration is designed for students who wish to pursue a variety of areas related to physical therapy, exercise physiology, cardiovascular rehabilitation, occupational therapy, prosthetics, nursing, pre-medical professions, as well as other health-related fields. The Allied Health concentration has the greatest level of flexibility in terms of coursework, with an option to complete all of the prerequisites necessary to pursue graduate level pursuits in physical therapy and the medical field. Students completing the Allied Health concentration will have an opportunity to complete a professional internship in various allied health-related professions, including clinical opportunities in physical therapy and hospital experience with cardiac rehabilitation. Students should confer with an academic adviser to prepare a plan of study for their selected concentration in Exercise and Nutrition Science.
In addition to the General Education Core and major requirements listed below, students should meet the following:
- Complete BIO 105 or 107 and CHEM 101 or 121 to fulfill the General Education science requirement
- Complete EC 231 or 232 and PSYC 201 towards the General Education Social Sciences requirement
