Latin American Studies Minor

The Latin American Studies (LAS) minor consist of 18 credit hours and enriches the liberal arts offerings at the University of Montevallo through the study and experience of distinct cultures. The minor promotes awareness of new immigrant groups in Alabama (informed citizenship) and provides students with superior tools to interact with the people of Latin America in professional and civic settings. Courses applied to the requirements for the Foreign Language concentration may also count toward the LAS minor. Students are responsible for any prerequisites for advance coursework within or outside the Department of English and World Languages.
