As a graduation requirement of the major, a student must earn a 2.0 GPA for all courses in the major and a 2.0 GPA in all upper-division (300 level or above) mathematics courses. Only the highest grade a student earns in each course will be used in calculating these GPAs.
In addition to the requirements listed below, students must meet all general graduation requirements as listed in the Undergraduate Academic Policies section in this Bulletin. A minimum of 120 semester hours is required for completion.

Major Requirements (51 credit hours)
Additional Requirements (8-12 credit hours)
Students must complete one of the following options:
- 8 credit hours at the 200-level or above in ONE of the following: Biology, Chemistry, or Physics; *
or
- PHIL 330 and 9 hours taken from PHIL 110 , 180 , 250 , 280 , 290 , 300 or 440 .
*Students who complete the science option will fulfill one of the two lab sciences required in general education core.
General Education and General Electives
Students must also complete the General Education Core requirements to include any specific courses listed below. Students must also complete sufficient general electives to reach 120 or more total semester hours.
Bachelor of Arts Requirements
Students pursuing the Bachelor of Art degree must successfully complete the second-year sequence of a world language. Alternative options, including a placement exam, are listed in the Bachelor of Arts requirements in the Undergraduate Academic Policies section of this Bulletin.
