Theatre, B.A. or B.S.
The B.A./B.S. in Theatre provides exposure to all areas of the department and prepares students for a variety of career paths, including work in the entertainment industry. However, this degree best serves students interested in a double major, minor or elective courses who intend to graduate in four years without taking extensive additional coursework. All Theatre majors (B.A./B.S.) are expected to actively participate in departmental productions and must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA to participate in productions that are not class assignments. In addition to the requirements listed below, students must meet all general graduation requirements as listed in the Undergraduate Academic Policies section in this Bulletin. A minimum of 120 semester hours is required for completion.
Major Requirements (41 credit hours)
General Education and General Electives
Students must also complete the General Education Core requirements to include any specific courses listed below. Students must also complete sufficient general electives to reach 120 or more total semester hours.
Bachelor of Arts Requirements
Students pursuing the Bachelor of Art degree must successfully complete the second-year sequence of a world language. Alternative options, including a placement exam, are listed in the Bachelor of Arts requirements in the Undergraduate Academic Policies section of this Bulletin.
