Hospitality is the comfort and well-being of guests at a variety of events and establishments. The Hospitality field covers all aspects of hospitality operations including hotels, restaurants, cruise ships, amusement parks, country clubs, and convention centers. Tourism is the movement of people to places outside their usual environment. The Tourism field covers tourism development, tourism services, travel industry management and tourism marketing.
Hospitality and tourism are truly complimentary as a multidisciplinary program, which promises to draw upon faculty and courses from several Departments and Colleges throughout the University of Montevallo.

In addition to the requirements listed below, students must meet all general graduation requirements as listed in the Undergraduate Academic Policies section in this Bulletin. Completion requires at least 120 credit hours.

Bachelor of Arts Requirements
Students pursuing the Bachelor of Art degree must successfully complete the second-year sequence of a world language. Alternative options, including a placement exam, are listed in the Bachelor of Arts requirements in the Undergraduate Academic Policies section of this Bulletin.
