Students in the Professional Writing Minor develop important skills and approaches that are vital for a wide variety of majors and professions in the 21st century: the abilities to think critically, research carefully, and write effectively for specific audiences. Through advanced instruction and applied practice in rhetoric, writing process, style and editing, and professional and technical writing, students complete the minor with a skillset and portfolio appropriate for applying to positions as professional writers or for admittance to advanced degree programs in English.
