Courses applied to the requirements for the Foreign Language concentration may also be counted toward the Latin American Studies minor. Students are responsible for any prerequisites for advance coursework within or outside the Department of English and Foreign Languages. The Latin American Studies minor promotes awareness of new immigrant groups in Alabama (informed citizenship) and provides students with superior tools to interact with the people of Latin America in professional and civic settings.
