NURS 340 - Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing 5 credit hours - The focus of the course is on the nurse’s role in promoting mental health and decreasing psychopathology through utilization of the nursing process with patients in various psychiatric settings including inpatient and community. This course focuses on the application of the nursing process with emphasis on critical thinking, safe care, and therapeutic nursing interventions. Class: 3 hours didactic; Clinical: 2 semester hours clinical [96 hours clinical]. Grade of ‘C’ or higher in all courses. Admission to the Nursing Program. Prerequisite(s): NURS 320 , NURS 321 , NURS 322 and NURS 325 . Co-requisite(s): NURS 323 and NURS 330 . Course Fee $ 200.00
