DATA 457 - Data Analytics Practicum


3 credit hours - This Self-Directed Capstone Course provides students hands-on experience in solving real-world data problems. Students will work on a data-focused project, applying skills in data collection, cleaning, analysis, visualization, and modeling. Throughout the course, students will gather and preprocess data, conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends and insights and build and apply machine learning models or statistical techniques to address the problem. They will also focus on effectively visualizing the results and presenting their findings through clear, compelling reports or dashboards. The course culminates in a formal presentation, where students will showcase their work to faculty or industry experts, demonstrating their ability to communicate data-driven insights.
