MATH 157 - Introduction to Statistics 3 credit hours - General Education - Descriptive and inferential statistics, frequency distributions, measures of central tendency and dispersion, probability and sampling, estimation, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, linear regression, correlation, and design of experiments. Prerequisite(s): MATH 131 OR 144 OR 147 OR 150 OR 154 OR 155 OR ACT Mathematics subscore of 20 or higher OR SAT Mathematics subscore of 444 or higher OR grade of B or higher in Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, or Calculus on high school transcript OR by departmental placement exam.
