ENG 501 - Approaches to Pedagogy


3 credit hours - In this course, future English GTAs will study pedagogical theory, develop their own teaching philosophies, and build assignments, lesson plans, classroom management skills, and assessment training that will prepare them to be effective and confident teachers of English Composition.  This course will begin a mentoring relationship that will continue throughout the following year as the GTAs teach and as the Graduate Program Coordinator observes several class sessions and provides substantial feedback, coaching, and mentoring.  Approval by the English Graduate Program Coordinator. Completion of ENG500 or equivalent is recommended but not required.
