Professional Writing Minor

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Department of English and World Languages

The Professional Writing Minor consists of 15 credit hours and can complement the traditional English major. It is also appropriate for students interested in other writing-intensive professions in both the humanities and the sciences. It offers an overview of commonly encountered genres in both technical and professional writing, emphasizing clarity and concision in craft, style, and mechanics. Students will have the opportunity to take cross-listed courses with the Stephens College of Business, identify and address community needs, submit course projects to funding organizations, and emerge with a portfolio appropriate for applying to professional writing jobs.
