Curriculum and Teacher Development, Ed.S.

The Curriculum and Teacher Development, Ed.S. is a 30-semester-hour program designed to meet both degree and certification requirements. This program is available to teachers who hold a valid Class A Certificate in any subject area or grade level.
Program Admission Requirements:
- A completed application and application fee available at www.montevallo.edu/admissions-aid/applying/
- One official transcript from each institution of higher education attended
- 3.00 graduating GPA in a master’s degree program from a regionally accredited college or university
- Valid Class A certification in any teaching field, grade level, or area of instructional support
- EXP form documenting at least three years teaching experience in a P-12 setting
- Three letters of recommendation
- Professional portfolio demonstrating the ability to improve student achievement and leadership potential
No credit toward the Ed.S. will be awarded to students who have not been admitted officially to the program(s).
Retention and Completion Requirements for Ed.S
- Maintain a minimum 3.50 program GPA on all coursework
- A passing score on a comprehensive assessment, which includes action research documentation and formal presentation

Electives (6 credit hours)
Students may select two 600-level advisor approved elective.
Note:
Students who have not completed the special-education requirements are required to take a general survey course SPED 507 , which will result in program completion of 33 credit hours.
