The College of Education and Human Development currently offers graduate programs tailored for certified public school personnel. However, there is a need for advanced preparation in applied instruction across varied industries where education and training are integral to client success. This non-certification program will synthesize existing CEHD coursework to support the advanced preparation of professionals in education settings.
The core will be composed of 18-hours in coursework that covers the following topics:
(1) Applied teaching
(2) Instructional design
(3) Instructional technology
(4) Client assessment
(5) Program evaluation
(6) Working with diverse populations
This will be a 100% online program using existing coursework.

Applied Instruction Requirements
Program Admission Requirements:
- A completed application at www.montevallo.edu/admissions-aid/applying/
- One official transcript from each institution of higher education attended
- 2.75 undergraduate graduating GPA or 3.0 master’s degree graduating GPA from a regionally accredited college or university
- One professional letter of recommendation
- Statement of Purpose
Retention and Completion Requirements
- Maintain a 3.25 program GPA
- Complete all required coursework with a grade of “C” or higher
