The Educational Leadership Ed.D. program is for seasoned education professionals aiming to elevate their careers across sectors like K-12, academia, and beyond. The curriculum is delivered via collaborative online sessions led by expert educators and researchers.
Applications for admission are evaluated twice a year, with due dates of April 15 (fall semester) and October 1 (spring semester). Other applications may be considered on a space-available basis.
Program Admission Requirements
- Completed application through http://www.montevallo.edu/apply
- One official transcript from each institution of higher education attended
- 3.0 master’s degree GPA regionally accredited college or university in education or related field
- Passing score on an Admissions Portfolio
- Three professional recommendations, including one from a current supervisor
- Statement of purpose and goals of no more than 1,000 words that addresses the following:
- The applicant’s rationale for applying for the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership,
- Explanation of how the program aligns with their purpose, and
- A statement regarding career and professional goals
- Resume/Curriculum Vitae
Retention/Completion Requirements
- Complete the approved program of study, including any applicable program requirements, within ten years.
- Maintain an overall 3.0 GPA on all work applied to the degree program.
- Complete and pass the qualifying exam.
- Submit a written dissertation that adheres to University and program expectations and requirements.
- Engage in a successful oral defense of the dissertation proposal and final dissertation.
